Quito will have its first International Conferences of Cocoa & Chocolate.

The first International Cocoa & Chocolate Conferences (Cacao & Chocolate Summit 2019) will be held on May 6, 2019 at San Francisco de Quito University, Cumbayá campus.

Ecuador is one of the countries that leads the world ranking of fine aroma cocoa production due to the unbeatable qualities it possesses. In recent years the country has developed its culture and has won countless awards for its work on a global scale.

As a result of this growth, the first international discussion of Cacao & Chocolate will gather for the first time the public and private actors of the Ecuadorian cocoa and chocolate value chain to discuss the past, present and future of the sector. This event will include among its core activities on inclusive business, sector plans, trends and applications in chocolate, as well as tastings.

The event is organized by Conexión Chocolate, San Francisco de Quito University, Rikolto and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG). Additionally, dialogue tables will be held with more than 30 institutions and specialized organizations in the sector.

The event will feature international presentations, including the presentation of Carla Martin, director of the Fine Cacao and Chocolate Institute (FCCI), and currently a professor at Harvard University. In addition, the experiences of associations and emblematic companies of the cocoa and chocolate sectors. Our two CEOs from our business units Gonzalo Chiriboga B2C and Arnaud Monmarché B2B will be joining sessions providing with their vision on industry development and impact.

At the end of the event, and to close the learning cycle, an Intensive Cacao Course will be taught from 07 to 09 May at the same university, aimed at producers and chocolatiers, and dictated by the specialist Carla Martín, director of FCCI.
